In the sense that according to wikipedia, a parody is a work that is used to slip, comment on the original work in a funny way or in satirical language.
According to Moeliono (Ed) (2007: 831), a parody is a literary or artistic work that deliberately mimics the style, said the writer, or other creator with the intention of looking for the effect of humor.
In my opinion, a design logo parody or illustration is a new design that has a satire or similarity in form. color and composition with the original logo.
There are many uses for a logo parody in graphic design. The first can be used to insinuate a brand that has a logo, for example a brand
NASA can be used as NASI (Only for Indonesia). Another example of the SUBWAY logo is replaced by SUNDAY.
The success of the logo parody lies in the aspect of choosing words or sentences, for example, we changed The Beatles to The Batles. This is an example in the logo type only.
Logo parodies can also be made for merchandise designs that we can buy and sell as long as they don’t violate copyright. This goes back to their respective personalities in view of Intellectual Property Rights.
